The World’s Largest Beer Pong Festival Returns to Ottawa

Ottawa may be known as Canada’s government nucleus, but that’s not the city’s only claim to fame. It is also home to the world’s biggest beer pong tournament.

This tournament, which is officially named Palooza Beer Pong Festival, made its debut in the city last year. It was then that it set the Guiness World Record for the largest event of its kind.

This year, as you can probably guess, the incredible event figures to be even bigger and better.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Palooza Beer Pong Festival.

The Palooza Beer Pong Festival, which is set to go down inside the beautiful Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park on Saturday, April 28th, is a not-for-profit event. The event will raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), which means that those in attendance are drinking for a good cause. For every shot you land and beer you drink, you’re helping sick kids. What could possibly be better?

The price to register as one of dozens of talented teams competing in the event is just $85.41. Of course, you can also attend as a spectator for a mere $30.95.

Over the course of the day, the teams in the tournament will battle for supremacy until a winning team is crowned, and their triumph is awarded with a massive trophy that would look good on any trophy shelf. Of course, the tournament itself isn’t the only reason to attend this awesome, beer-soaked event.

The Palooza Beer Pong Festival will also feature some fantastic live entertainment (bands and DJs), an outdoor dining area featuring some of Ottawa’s best eats, a costume contest (with thousands of dollars in prizes) and much, much more. Last year, this incredible day of drinking fun attracted thousands of Ottawa locals and visitors alike. This year, it’s expected to draw an even bigger crowd — probably far north of 3,000 people. And when all the fun is over (around 11pm), don’t worry about finding a way home. Your ticket includes a complimentary OC Transpo bus ride, so you better not even think about getting behind the wheel!
